Four Roses Single Barrel uses more corn in its fermented mash than the rest of the Bourbons in Kentucky, at least 60%. Single Barrel is the result of combining at least 10 whiskeys from different barrels. The Single Barrel is aged in charred American white oak barrels for 8 years, which gives it a very special character. Each barrel is personally selected when they have gained their spicy character, floral nose, and delicate slight dryness to be considered the best of natural Bourbons. Each bottle, approximately 248 per barrel, is hand-labeled and numbered. The series of numbers on the black label tells us when the whiskey was put into the barrel and the date it was bottled. This ensures the unique and exclusive source of the Four Roses distillery and gives us the opportunity to compare Bourbon from different barrels and different years. With this natural process, it is not possible for two barrels to result in Bourbons of identical flavor.
